Sweet Yesterdays situated in Broadstairs High Street, is a traditional old fashioned sweet shop, opened in the summer of 2000.

It is a family business run by Donna Loftus, her daughter, Chloe, and her two sons Tom and Jack (who are her chief tasters). The family enjoy working in the shop, which is probably every child’s dream, especially as it is situated in a town that can boast a High Street packed with independent traders.

Sweets just make people smile, bringing back lots of fond memories from childhood, which makes the work a pleasure. Rarely do Donna and her family meet grumpy people.

Sweet Yesterdays stocks over 600 lines of confectionary, ranging from the highest quality from Confectioners worldwide, to a large variety of sugar-free products for Diabetics, lots of old favourites such as sweet peanuts, coconut tobacco, to rhubarb and custard.

It really is like going back in time, so if there is a sweet you remember call in to see Donna and her team – you never know they may be able to take you back a few years, to when Mars Bars were bigger and sherbet made your fingers yellow!
